Young people at CBC
Providing opportunities for young people to grow and flourish
Sunday mornings
We are very fortunate to have a vibrant and gifted group of young people aged between 11 and 18 as part of our community at CBC.
We gather as a group (school years 7 to 13) once a week on a Sunday morning during our weekly service to explore the Bible and discuss relevant topics that young people face today in a dynamic and interactive way. We also meet at different times during the week, month, and year often with help from other organisations including WCCYM and Youth for Christ.

WCCYM
WCCYM stands for West Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries. WCCYM is a local youth organisation that works across churches and secondary schools in the local area. As a church we support the work of WCCYM, our minister is one of the Trustees, and we do a lot together. Being a part of WCCYM means that our young people can be a part of bigger and better events in and around Comberton enabling us to walk alongside even more young people. From weekly lunch clubs in local secondary schools to a monthly youth service with dinner to annual events like punting, the weekend away and Satellites, WCCYM runs something for everyone.
Discipleship and Deeper
Discipleship and Deeper are two groups that WCCYM runs on a Friday evening here at CBC. Discipleship is for young people in Year 7-11 and runs typically twice a month. Deeper is for those in Year 12-13 and runs once a month.
Thirst
Thirst is WCCYM’s monthly youth service held in Cambourne on the second Sunday of the month 6pm – 8:30pm. An opportunity to meet together, have a meal, worship, hear someone share something from the Bible or an aspect of faith (this could be a young person or adult sharing), and have time to pray. The purpose is to encourage you in your faith. All are welcome.
Other WCCYM events
WCCYM will also be involved in several one off events throughout the year. These include the WCCYM weekend away, various social events like bowling, punting or summer and Christmas parties, or taking a group the Satellites in the summer holidays. There is lots for our young people to get involved in.
EDGE Community Youth Club
EDGE Community Youth Club happens here at CBC on a Thursday after school for all young people in Years 7-13 from 4-6pm. We have a range of activities such as table tennis, pool, card games, craft table and a tuck shop serving a range of drinks and snacks – including our (possibly) world famous cheese toasties. We are very thankful to our local Parish Council who fund four of the youth workers who staff EDGE.
